Poetry of the Heart eBook Review

Product Description:

Poetry for the Heart is a collection of twenty-two free-verse poems that reflect emotions and share experience about writing, creativity, careers, childhood, home, dreams, animals, and more. The poems are honest and uplifting, and written with a modern style that is simplistic.

MY REVIEW:

I’m sure it can be said that there is something for everyone in this compilation of thoughts. It took me reading a few of them before I found one that I could relate to, and that rapidly turned into two and three, and then rereading them I could see them relating to different aspects of my life, not the same as the author but similar.  I guess the key is to read this book with an open mind!!
“Self-Doubt” has a beautiful couple of lines in it “There are different styles of creativity, And they are all acceptable and beautiful:”.  This is very true and something to keep in mind when reading this.  The author of these thoughts is expressing themselves and putting it all out there for us to read.  Takes a lot of courage to write your thoughts for others to read, and this is a wonderful blend of those expressions.
I thought some were cute, like Truth or Dare.  I think we've all been there and done that.  How do you make that choice, do you embarrass yourself by telling a “truth” or do you risk even more humiliation with a “Dare”.  I’m so happy to see (or read as the case is) that I am not the only one who had those feelings growing up.  I likely would today as well.

Overall, I like the short stories in this book.  I was expecting poetry which is something I love but this book is filled with so much more, it is not poetry really but it is poetry from her heart… which is very beautiful.  I like her writing, but I wish the book was longer, the stories were longer and whatnot.  I felt “unfulfilled”… It is very lovely and I look forward to reading more of her stuff.

I give this book 1 out of 2 thumbs up!!
