MY REVIEW:

We had seen the trailer to this movie on another we had just recently purchased and my older two girls wanted to see it, so when we were browsing the aisles in Walmart today and I saw that it was FINALLY here we just had to purchase it.  We loved the previews, my youngest daughter refers to it as "the funny movie with the sign that the truck drives away with", once you watch it you will understand the reference.

We watched it with dinner, which we don't normally get to do, but I said we could watch it tonight and we were running late so we did both at the same time.  And we laughed, truly enjoyed it.  If you have young girls or are one of those people who just love reminiscing this is a great movie.  I don't recall any fowl language in Prom.  I really enjoyed it, as usual the good girl falls for the bad boy and she softens him, he hardens her.  It's a story of finding who you are and realizing that everything you've done for the last four years (high school) doesn't really matter.  It all boils down to that one night.  You will be remembered for the dress you wear, the shoes, the hair, who you come with, who you leave with.  I for one never went to my prom which made it kind of sad for me.  I know silly.  BUT It's true.  Even as an adult I can still watch movies like this and look back at the times in my own life and think "yep, that's how it is, was, will always be".  New kids go to prom every year, sophomores only dream of going, rarely being asked.  And although the theme changes year to year the story stays the same.  The good guy doesn't always get the girl at first, but the smart girl realizes in the end where she should be.  This movie is very much how I can imagine prom to be nowadays.  The characters are believable, lovable and realistic.  They aren't all out there, it's not a popularity contest, it's nice to see a movie about "the other kids".  I liked it a lot, go out and get yourself a copy today.

I know that we will watch this movie time and time again, but I don't think it will be on repeat.  I give this movie 8 out of 10 fingers.  (didn't keep my 3 year old's attention, but everyone else liked it a lot)

The Game of Life Twists and Turns by Hasbro

In my household we enjoy family game night on occasion, it's hard to find games that all four of my children will enjoy playing together so we usually stick to having it when the younger two are in bed.  We do have some toddler board games that we enjoy during the day when they are awake but in order to really have the older children enjoy the game it can't be something simple.  I know what you're thinking, "kids these days".  I enjoy playing with my children EXCEPT that everyone always wants to be the banker and in control of the money or the houses or the people.  It becomes very difficult to explain a game like Monopoly to a five year old, thank goodness for Littlest Petshop Monopoly.

Last Christmas I got The Game of Life Twists and Turns (I love board games, I would be happy if I owned every one and someday I hope to have at least played a great majority of them).  So, this game has sat on the shelf not living, not twisting, not turning, doing a whole lot of nothing.  You know why?  I will tell you why, because I thought it was too old for my children.  One night my 10 and 5 year old said "Can we play Twists and Turns PLEEEAAASSSEEE", of course I reluctantly said yes, dreading the crying and screaming that was surely to come from my five year old as the frustration grew the more we played and the less she understood.  But to my surprise, none of that happened, it was extremely easy for my 5 year old to do.  She got to be her own banker and she understood most of what was going on.  She had a blast, and so did I.

The best part, there was no fighting over being the banker at all because everyone gets a turn.  It's electronic.  Everyone gets a card that they stick into the disc as it comes to them on their turn.  Well, wasn't I relieved!  The instructions were easy to follow the game pretty well plays itself, there isn't even counting at the end, you just stick your little "Visa" card into the machine and it tallies everything up for you.  It's great.  I enjoyed it so much and the children asked to play it the very next night.  It is definitely at the top of my list of games to play with everyone.  And even though my son wouldn't understand just what's going on, he can play it too.  He can count his man ten spaces, if that's what the computer rolls for him, and the rest mommy or daddy can help with.  I really did enjoy playing this game with my husband and our older children.

I love the game, but it's a little bitter sweet, the part that makes it great for my youngest is also the part that makes it not as fun for me as traditional board games, the electronic counter.  As a child, my favorite part was being the banker and counting out the money, handing over the little pink and blue people and spinning the dial.  They have taken that fun out of the game.  If moves faster, I think and it easier to do, as long as you're paying attention to your turn there should be little to no mistakes.  But it just isn't as exciting as it used to be.  I think seeing the money, the pink and blue people, all the hands on things, that's the most exciting part for me.  I do love that my younger children can play but compared to the original, not quite as fun, still a lot of family fun in my house but it's just not the same.

7 out of 8 thumbs up.

Gyro Bowl

This is The Gyro Bowl, which I'm sure some of you have seen on TV and some may not have.  I didn't, but when I saw the boxes at Walmart  covering the entire end of one of their aisles, oh boy did I get super excited.  I saw this colorful, eye catching box with a really cool "spill proof" bowl in it that would keep my children with snacks and me not worry about them dropping on the floor when they run around with a bowl.

So thrilled at the idea and the price tag under $9 I had to get one, I actually got two.  One was for my toddler, 16 months old very active happy little girl and the second one was for my son who will be three in a month, also always on the go.  I didn't have a treat to put in them right away but once we got home from getting "back to school stuff" at Walmart we had to go out again and I was so please to have these bowls and be to able to use them in my car.  I mean, who doesn't want spill proof everything in the car when it comes to letting their little ones have snacks (which, by the way, we don't have often in the car.  I'm one of those paranoid moms who constantly worry about how I would get off the road and someone out of the car quick enough if they were choking).

So, all packed up and ready to go, again.  Cheerios loaded into the Gyro Bowls and one happy mommy....Until we started driving and my five year old daughter yells up to the front seat "MOM, they are spilling them all over the floor".  Uggg, really?!  I'm in shock, something that I thought was going to be a great investment turned out to be a dud.  Not that I am really surprised, I mean how often do we see things and think "Now, that's too good to be true" yep, that's me.  Always looking for the things that will help make my life easier and with four children having an easier life is sometimes difficult.  I want the best things for my money and this was not one of them.  $16 gone and a messy car.  Nope not one of my better purchases.

I never saw the previews, if I had have I never would have purchased it.  My realistic side would have taken over and I would have talked myself out of buying it.  While I was looking for the image online I saw the commercial and they are turning it very slowly and never do they actually turn the unit upside down. Sideways, yes, they do show some children carrying it that way, but never upside down.  The infomercial shows the person flipping the handle around the bowl but not actually moving the bowl.  Not a good purchase, I was very disappointed in these bowls, as a bowl itself it works well enough to hold stuff if kept straight but as a "spill proof" bowl, no way.

I give this 2 out of 8 thumbs.  (my children like to play with it, so it's a great toy)

Something Borrowed

Released on DVD: August 16th, 2011
One night, one drunken mistake, five lives changed forever.

In this movie Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) is the life long best friend of Ethan (John Krasinski) and Darcy (Kate Hudson).  She is in love with her law school friend Dex (Colin Egglesfield) who is engaged to Darcy.  I thought the movie was pretty funny, I spent a lot of time laughing.  I usually love Kate Hudson, but I just did not like her character in this movie she is self-centred and always needs to have things her way.  Rachel and Dex ended up in bed after her surprise 30th birthday party, they went to a bar later on and got to talking at which point she confessed that she had a crush on him in law school.  Rachel and Dex kept the secret of what happened that night from Darcy who was still excited doing all the finishing touches for her wedding that was in a month.   I am tore with my review of this movie because I love the stars, I didn't like the characters.  All the lies and deceit.  Making Darcy an egotistical snot doesn't make what Rachel and Dex did any better.  In the end having her also unfaithful, I guess maybe to balance out the wrongful doings, just seemed to be a little too much.  I don't see how people can consider living the way these five people have been living, or not living as the case may be.

Dex is trying to do what he thinks is best to keep his depressed mother happy.  Hiding his feeling from Rachel because his father tells him to "stop whatever it is he's doing"

Rachel is a people pleaser always letting people walk over her.  She seems to be a good girl who made a bad mistake 6 years prior and stood aside and let her best friend swoop in and get the guy that she clearly knew Rachel was in love with from all the talk she had done about him.

Darcy only seems to care about being first and the best at everything treating life as a competition with Rachel, likely powered by jealousy because Rachel is the smarter more pulled together one.

Ethan lives a miserable life as the best friend in love with the girl who's in love with someone else and runs away knowing he could never have her.

Marcus (Steve Howey), a womanizer, always has his mind on one thing and can't keep his hands to himself.

I would not have enjoyed this movie as much if I didn't like the stars who played in it. Three out of four thumbs up.

If you like love triangles and broken hearts you would likely enjoy this movie.

PG-13 for sexual content including dialogue, and some drug material

Priest

DVD RELEASE AUGUST 16TH, 2011

Movie synopsis:
In a post-apocalyptic world, a savage war between man and vampire raged for centuries. A warrior priest (Paul Bettany) receives word of fresh attacks but now it`s personal, his niece has been kidnapped by a new hive of merciless vampires. To save her, he must break his vow of peace and hunt down the hive before it's too late. Based on the acclaimed graphic novel and packed with bloodthirsty action, this full throttle crusade takes you on the hunt for a deadly new breed of killer

MY REVIEW:
I think this movie is awesome.  I was glued to the TV the entire movie.  As a fan of vampires and vampire movies it is nice to finally have a great vampire movie the way they should be.  You will not see any sparkly vampires here folks, these are some of the ugliest I've seen and did I ever love it. I enjoyed everything about this movie.  It has it all action, adventure, thrills and a couple twists thrown in also.   Paul Bettany played the part very well, holding a secret from his closest relative for many years just to have her told in the midst of disaster. I think each cast member played their role greatly and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.  If you like things blowing up then you'll like the ending.  I never read the book but I think I just may have to because by the way the movie ends I am thinking there may be another movie (could be wishful thinking)....Only time will tell, or the book will....  If you haven't already seen this movie go out and get it.  It arrived in stores on the 16th of August.  Great movie.  Four out of four thumbs up.
This movie is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, disturbing images and brief strong language.

"6 Awesome Ideas for Kid Friendly Vacations" E-book

6 Awesome Ideas for Kid Friendly Vacations is an E-book written by Teresa Mills, a mother of four teenage children who has been traveling with them since they were little.  It gives lists and a little detail describing six kid friendly family vacations that she does with her family and enjoys enough to share her insight about them and suggests places to visit in different parts of the USA.  I enjoyed reading 6 Awesome Ideas for Kid Friendly Vacations because I too have four children that I love to travel with.  And although she mentions that some of these things do not cost much money I think that all depends on how much you consider to be a lot or "much money".  I would suggest reading this E-book if you plan on going for a family vacation in the USA as it gives great location suggestions to visit.  As for travel outside of the USA, this book will provide you with 6 Awesome Ideas for Kid Friendly Vacations.  Enjoy and safe travels everyone.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Now wasn't that fun....

I started to write this Sunday but was really tired......

Holy cow, well, we took our children to the Toronto Zoo on Sunday which turned out to be a pretty amazing day. My husband really loved the tornado that was somewhere 3 hours from our location. I don't know exactly where it was but there was a ton of hard rain, I have never seen raindrops that large. And the hail, oh my goodness the hail hurt so much. we took cover in  portable kiosk. I think the girls that worked there felt bad for us (me and the three girls) and that's why they didn't kick us out :) such nice girls too.  We really had a lot of fun, even though we got soaking wet on more than one occasion and the panic in everyone was also insane.  I had never witness such a thing.  I am so happy that I have never really come across things like that before, glad that we don't live somewhere like Florida or along the coast where they get tornadoes and hurricanes.  The thing that started me writing this again is because we're experiencing another storm, crazy I know.  I have never in my life been witness so such a change in the weather and so sudden too.  Hopefully it leaves as quickly as it comes because I am a worry wart and I don't like things that I can't control.  I'm pretty sure we'll all be okay because God has other plans for us.  Oops I have to go, the storm just woke up my 5 year old.  I have to go take care of my girl.

Dye Hard Temporary Hair Coloring Gel

"DYEHARD® is a thick opaque temporary hair color styling "gel" available in an easy to use squeeze tube.  This hard holding formula may be used for styling as well as coloring.
It is available in 11 colors: 5 neon shades, 2 extreme metallics, and 4 Matte "Goth" colors."

MY REVIEW:
I was not too impressed with this product.  My oldest two daughters and I tried it out.  I have very dark almost black hair, my oldest daughter has sandy blonde hair and my other little girl has very light blonde hair.  I purchased four colors HTG 12172 ELECTRIC LIZARD™ (neon green), HTG12174 ELECTRIC SKY™ (neon blue), HTG 12171 ELECTRIC FLAMINGO™ (neon pink),  HTG12178 PURPLE HAZE® (matte bright purple).  I found that the colors only showed up, as you would expect from looking at the bottles, properly on my younger daughter's hair, my oldest daughter had a little luck with the blue, but the green didn't work very well at all.  And much to my disappointment it didn't work at all on my hair.  BUT when I got caught in the pouring rain from the tail end of a tornado it sure did wash out quickly.  So, for color on darker hair I would not recommend this, but if you're a light shade of blonde the colors may just work for you.  As for hold, that it did pretty well.  When it comes to washing it out easily it did meet my expectations for that, but with the lighter shade of blonde hair you really need to test a small area and see if you like the "faded" look because it didn't wash out the first time for us, but it did after a couple of washes.  I would not buy this again for myself. Two out of six thumbs up for this.

Activia by DANONE

"Activia® is a yogurt with a probiotic culture, now available for the first time in Canada from Danone. Activia® contains a exclusive strain of bifidobacteria, called Bifidobacterium (animalis) lactis, or BL RegularisTM.
All yogurts typically contain two bacterial cultures: Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilis. These friendly bacteria have been demonstrated to help digest lactose in lactose-intolerant people. In addition to these cultures, Activia® also contains Bifidobacterium (animalis) lactis - BL RegularisTM.
Danone's researchers added the BL RegularisTM strain to Activia® owing to its beneficial effects on colonic digestion"
            From the Danone Activia site

   MY REVIEW:
I have experienced all the sales commercials about Activia on TV and I'm sure some of you have too. I never really wanted to try it because I love my usual yogurt, which is also a DANONE product.  But when my family Dr. told me to try Activia for an issue my son has I jumped right into the nearest grocery store and I grab 48 of their little cups (as well as 48 of my usual, for the other children) I told them that we were going to just have their brother try it for now and we'd see how it goes.  Well, that was a week ago, his problem has lessened and I couldn't be happier.  Everyone is allowed to eat it now, and we all really enjoy it.  I noticed on the website they have drinks and desserts and we are definately going to try them as well, check back later for those reviews.  I find Activia to be a very pleasent flavored yogurt. there is not an overwhelming amount of flavor which is what I like to have and it is so creamy.  All four of my children love to have it and the fact that it's healthy for them and helps keep them balanced is greatThey have fourteen flavors to choose from, seven are fat free.  I have to admit that we haven't tried all fourteen.  My favorite is the strawberry, which I have to fight my oldest for because she likes it and the peach which are the two that I enjoy the most.  :)   I would recommend this to anyone who likes yogurt.  If you don't get enough milk products in the day grab a couple of these and throw one in your lunch and eat another at home, they taste great and are great for you, what more can you ask for.  I love it! Eleven out of twelve thumbs up for this one :)

Busy busy life....

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for joining me again, I just want to say how much I love my family and that we are a very busy family and always seem to be on the go.  I just wish that just once we would all slow down a little.  Stop growing old (my husband and me) and growing up(our four children) so fast.  And just enjoy life together a little more.  My husband has worked, without a day off for over a week now, I guess that's the not so good part of being a reservist, not only does he have the Navy as a part time thing he also has a full time job.  Cork is in Kingston right now and he's had to do that two days this past week and then two days next week.  He requested this weekend off but his boss didn't even notice so even though we were supposed to go to the zoo I thought we'd have to cancel.  Luckily, his boss saw the error he had made and he let him have tomorrow off.  Which is great because I didn't want to have to take the children to Toronto by myself, although I would have.

I'm a very spontaneous person, especially when I'm lonely or grumpy, or moody, okay, so I'm always a "leave what you're doing and go have fun" kind of person.  I mean, my children are only going to be young once and I want to have as much fun as I can with them.  I guess I just contradicted myself didn't I, or did I?  You see, I like to always be doing things that I feel my children will have a lot of fun with, this is true, BUT  I like to be with them to do these things.  My husband and I are so different, sometimes I wonder how we even work.  I am all about spending as much time with my family as I can, I'm okay living pay cheque to pay cheque, I realize that most people do, have for years and will continue to long after I'm gone.  I am aware that every month the bills will come piling in and we may or may not have enough to pay them all off, that's what happens when you have only one income.  I feel badly that my husband thinks he needs to work all the time so we can live, we have gone over time and time again me going back to work but it just doesn't make sense.  If we are both working at the same time we would need a sitter and while the big ones are in school it would be a little more manageable it just doesn't make sense for me to leave my children in the care of someone that I really don't know just so I can make enough money to pay them to raise my children.  So many parents I know both work, and that's great for them, but for me!  I want to be home with my children, I want to be the one teaching the life lessons.  I would love it if my husband would slow down a little bit and enjoy life with us.  Work a regular 8-5 job and spend the rest of the time with his family.  But he is work, work, work and I'm not, and I don't feel he should be or needs to be.  Sadly he has this feeling of never being good enough, never doing good enough, never deserving what he has.  He can't just enjoy life because his mother raised him poorly.  Always looking down on him and making sure he was not good enough for greatness.  The things he wanted to do with his life were beneath him and the things she allowed him to do didn't deserve him.  Unfortunately some things I just can't control.  That's where I ask God for strength in understanding and accepting.  I love my husband and I know he's trying to do what, in his mind, is best for us, but I just wish that he would slow down and smell the flowers and the trees

With that said, I'm so excited to be going to the zoo tomorrow.  I think we need a nice family outing and that it will be very fun for everyone :)  Yeah :)

PENATEN® Daily Clear Protection Cream

PENATEN® Medicated Cream might be familiar to many moms and dads as it has been around for over 100 years protecting and healing the bottoms of many children who've experienced the irritation from diaper rashes, it is specifically formulated to offer fast, soothing relief.

Since 1904 this little blue tin with the thick medicated cream inside has helped and continues to help treat baby's diaper rash and also creating a protective barrier to fight against further wetness.  But now they have created PENATEN® Daily Clear Protection Cream which is a non-medicated clear cream that goes on smooth leaving the baby's bottom soft.  It is not greasy which is nice to parents hands.  It is designed for regular use and helps prevent diaper rash from occurring.

MY REVIEW:

I have four children, my oldest is almost 11 years old now, and I have used Penaten in the little blue tin since she was born, up until my son was born it was my diaper rash preventative choice.  I never had diaper rash experience so it must work, right?!  Well, when my son was a baby and in diapers I used it for a little while, but then I discovered the most fantastic thing every parent should have for their babies PENATEN® Daily Clear Protection Cream.  I love that unlike the tin of "butt paste" this tube of cream does not stick to my  hands and leave a white blotch of cream that I had to use a baby wipe to clean off if I was in a hurry, and that wasn't easy.  I didn't like having to scrub the paste off, but this new cream is amazing, I love it.  I used it for my son and continue to use it for my daughter.  I give it away to everyone I know who's having a baby.  I truly believe it's great and I want other moms and dads to enjoy it as much as I do, or at least be given the chance to.  I know some people don't like trying new things especially when there is something similar that has had a long life in the market, but give it a try.  I'm sure you'll love it.

The Fire Station By Robert Munsch

Written by Robert Munsch.
Illustrated by Michael Martchenko.
Published by Annick Press, 1992.

Paragraphs in quotes was taken from The Official Website of Robert Munsch site

"The Fire Station was a story that I made up in a daycare centre in Coos Bay, Oregon
.
The children in the story, Michael Villamore and Sheila Prescott, were both kids in the daycare centre – they were always getting into trouble. In the middle of one night Michael got up and washed all the windows in his house; only he used bug spray instead of window cleaner. All the windows got absolutely sticky and the mother woke up and thought she was dying.

Once they asked me to make up a story about them and I made up the fire station story. Now in fact, we used to take the daycare centre to the fire station once every couple of months. Michael and Sheila loved to sit on the front of the fire truck. So it made a great deal of sense to them that they should be in a story about a fire station.

The fire station shown in the story is one in downtown Toronto."

MY REVIEW:

I personally am a huge fan of Robert Munsch, but what makes this story stand out over all other Munsch stories I have read my four children over the years is that EVERY night, and nap time, my two and a half year old son wants this to be his bed time story.  We enjoy the colorful illustrations on all of the pages, the way the story quickly flows from one page to the next.  It's a thrilling adventure in which Sheila takes Michael by the arm and guides him to the fire station where the fun begins.  Michael seems to be a more cautious child and Sheila wants to see it all and do it all.  They visit the fire station and when the tour is over they hop in a enormous fire truck just in time for the alarm to sound and the fire fighters to come from all directions and head to the fire.  Sheila and Michael get covered in colorful smoke and then discovered by the fire chief.  When the children are taken home their own parent doesn't know who they are.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and get into reading every word of it with my son.  He gets so excited at so many different parts.  I think there are many people who would enjoy reading this fun story to their children.  It is funny, fast and colorful, as are most Robert Munsch stories I've read.

When you visit:
The Official Robert Munsch Website
You can choose the book and it will send you to a link to buy it.

ENJOY!!!!

Some more stepping stones......

A few years back my husband and I started welcoming other peoples pets into our homes.  These pets were previously loved by what we hoped were great homes, but for one reason or another their people could no longer take care of them, didn't have time, were having a baby, changed their minds, pet was pregnant.  It didn't matter the reason we didn't worry about why (unless of course the animal was violent, because of our children) We have taken in countless cats and dogs, pregnant or not.  We have loved them for the time they were in our home and we tried very hard to find them loving homes.  We have charged small fees on occasion but it all depends on how long we've had the pets.  So, the reason I am talking to you about this today is because last night one of our friends told us her boyfriend was going to let their three kittens outside because he didn't want them anymore.  Their cat had given birth to four kittens and they had given one away when they were little, for some reason my friend thought it was a good idea to keep the other  three.  So here they are 16 weeks old and she had one night to get rid of them and no one wanted them. So, after a year and a little bit of taking a break from taking in animals we have three new kitties....oh yeah, then tonight my friend told me that she had to get rid of her 7 week old kitten that she just got because she scratched her newborn baby :(  So, now we have four.  I have posted ads for them and hopefully someone will take them and provide wonderful homes for them.  We don't charge for kitties of any age, no matter how long they are with us :)  They don't cost much....I don't take in animals to make money, I take them in because I have a huge heart (sometimes too big) but I love helping them out.  I think because I would like someone to help me out if I were down on my luck and needed a little help.  I want to be that person for the animals.  I love being the "Stepping Stone" from one loving home to a forever loving home :)

I did want to bred dogs at one point in time, not really for money (although, my husband liked that aspect) But when you bred dogs you have to do it for a very long time or have a lot of b*tches in order to make money because it doesn't pay.  Vet bills, food, etc etc etc.  I have had two litters of puppies and although I enjoyed every aspect of it, I have changed my mind, at this point in time in my life I cannot justify breeding as my husband is not always home and I can't dedicate the amount of time towards them as they would need.  I have my own babies to worry about for now.  Maybe when they are all grown up I will think about it again, but until then I will bring in animals that other people didn't want any longer and find them good homes.  I will likely not take up breeding because after bringing in these random lonely pets from time to time I have come to realize that there are way too many animals out their looking for homes.  People love a pet when it's a baby but sometimes that's it :(    We have 3 dogs of our own, a lab (one of the puppies I bred), a husky and a husky/german sheppard mix.  I love our doggies, and we also have 4 cats (two of which were given to us from a friend who didn't want them any more, one we still got because of that same person, and the fourth one we got while visiting that friend).  We love our furry family and although we've had a lot of them in the past we are sticking with these 7 until they leave this world.

Well I have to get going, have a great night everyone :)

What a disappointment today was :(

Today started a little later than usual.  My five year old came to bed with us sometime in the night.  I was so tired I just said "yes, of course you can sleep with us" I slid over in the bed and let her crawl up between my husband and me.  Then we slept in, my husband has been on afternoons for a couple days and it threw off my sleep schedule a little (I stay up until he gets home).  So, I am a little exhausted today which is kind of horrible but what else can I do.  My "bestest" friend was supposed to be here at 8:30 but luckily she slept in as well so we didn't need to be up that early, but I let my husband sleep in and I got up with the children.  He usually lets me sleep in so I thought I would do it for him.  He was supposed to change our friends brakes and oil in her car before we went to get tattoos.  We have been waiting for almost two months to do it.  So, our friend got here and he changed her oil, then it was time to go.  We got in our car to go and guess what, it wouldn't start.  I mean seriously what is wrong with today.  So, our friend let us borrow her car, which was beneficial to both parties because my husband discovered a couple more things by driving it.  So, some good came from that :)  The guy said he was not going to charge us a late fee which was really nice but then the tattoos cost more than I was expecting but they both look amazing so it was worth it.  Mind you, I didn't get my tattoos because the artist ran out of time :(  So now I'm trying to figure out a time I can go. So far with no luck.  I'm kind of angry about it, I mean I was really excited and so far I'm not having any luck with getting them done which makes me a little sad.  My, almost 3 year old, son never had a nap today, instead he took the mattress off his bed and covered it, his bed frame and his toys as well as himself with bum cream :( At least he won't get a diaper rash on his arms, lol.  So that was lovely to come home to. Also, kept peeing in his pants today which I didn't understand why he was doing that so that what a little upsetting as well. The cat pooped on the floor which sucked to see as well and then of course things just keep getting worse.  My husband changed the brakes then my friend left, I was going to go with her, but it took so long that I didn't because she had to be home by a certain time so I couldn't go because of that.  My car is broken, my house is a mess and I'm so frustrated with everything right now. I'm waiting for the better times of the day to kick in but so far no luck with that either. I'm very disappointed in myself for the way I have been grumpy today but I'm so sad and I should feel like it's a way most people are, I mean everyone gets sad and upset and reacts improperly to situations all the time.  I just feel terrible about it, it's a terrible feeling to think you are not being a good person to those around you.  Tonight will be a good night I hope....or at least maybe tomorrow can make up for today :)

We Give Books..... AMAZING

http://www.wegivebooks.org

How many of you have wanted to give to children in need but at the same time not wanted to go to far out of your own way?  Sad but true we are a very selfish species.  Well guess what, if you have children you can read your loved ones a book on the computer that they will love because they get to spend quality time with mommy or daddy and in the end when you have read to your own wonderful child just click send a book and "We Give Books" will donate a book to children in whichever campaign you have chosen.  It's that simple.  In no time at all I read two books tonight and also sent two books to children in Africa.
First book I read

34 of the cutest pages I've read on the Internet.  And the second book I read was Spot Loves His Mommy.  I really enjoy reading books that make me think of how I interact with my own children.
I am hoping that there are more people out there like myself who may not have a lot of money, but who have a big heart and are able to take a few minutes a day and read a book with their children and at the same time helping out children somewhere else in the world who have even less.  And I know a lot of people in the world today are struggling, but I tell you now, if you're able to read this then you are by far, much better of then the children these books will be going to.  They have no Internet, some likely don't even know what a computer is.  Please take time before bed, when you first wake up, before nap time, whenever you are able to sit down with your children and read a book.  They will enjoy it, you will enjoy it and so will children somewhere else in the world.  Thank you to all for your kind hearts!

Well now that was just weird....

So, my family and I were getting out of the car at Walmart today and I put one foot out, stood up on it but as soon as my second leg came out I came crashing to the ground, you would not believe it.  My four children and my husband were in the car and concerned of course, but I was fine.  I just needed a minute to get my composure.  There wasn't a car in the spot beside us so that was nice, although it totally would have cushioned my fall.  I have no idea what caused it.  At the time I said that my leg must have fallen asleep, but it wasn't sleeping, I know that sharp, tinkly, uncomfortable feeling and I was not having it.  I do remember that it happened so fast that I blinked and was on the ground.  My husband came running to my rescue, of course, because he's my white knight.  I love that he was actually home.  After it happened all I could think was what it would have been like had he been gone and not around for me, around for our children.  What if I had have been out with those four children and something happened.  I am just happy that he was there and that everything seems to be doing well now.  I know that stuff happens every day to people and it bothers me so much with worry.  I hope that nothing ever happens to me when my children are around.  I would feel so badly if it did.  I know that one day I won't be here anymore for them and that is slowly crippling me inside.  A constant worry of mine is that something may happen to me when my husband is away and then what will happen to my children, who will take care of them, will he find out about it???  I have a huge issue with letting these things bother me to the point that I can't always do the "fun" things with my children, like um, anything.  I am constantly weighing the danger in my head and if some how something may happen that could cause me to be injured and unable to take care of my babies then I don't do it.  My husband is such a free spirit and he enjoys having fun and the children LOVE being able to do fun things with daddy, I wish I was more like that but I have to guarantee that I will be here for my children as long as I can be.  I will keep you posted if anything else happens that is weird.  lol.  Hope you all have a good day.  Off to watch some movies with my babies and take it easy for the rest of the day.

MY REVIEW:

As a fan of Everwood I was excited to receive the season finale for review.  I thoroughly enjoyed this final season of the Everwood series.  I was saddened that it has come to an end but captured on the five discs is a wonderful story of how a little town is all connected and the many loving ways they pull together in the tragedies that come with life.  I think, as with most WB Series', Everwood is designed for a specific group of people, I am one of the lucky ones to be in that group of people.  Watching how the lives of the characters in Everwood changed over the years, how they grew close as friends and then fell about as lovers are just two of the highlights in the series.  Watching this finale season was a wonderful treat and makes me want to buy the first three.

OWN IT ON DVD

Ban Horse Slaughter in Canada

Ban Horse Slaughter in CanadaFollow this link sign this petition and ban the slaughter of horses in Canada.  I truly believe that there is a better place for these animals.  There are many rescues for senior horses to live out their final days, and for most of these horses there are many more days in their futures that they are being robbed of.  Please help save one of God's creatures.
