MY REVIEW:

As a mom of three little girls it's hard not to chuckle as I read the words in this story.  It's like they are my girls, the older two to be more precise.  They are great friends until one does something the other doesn't like and then they're "never talking to you again".  It really made me laugh to see that Anabella and her best friend, Imani, have the same issues.  It really must be a girl thing right?  As girls we just demand our own way and when we don't get it, watch out.

Unfortunately, the dislike happened because of a misunderstanding.  Have you ever had laughing bouts that just went on and on?  Starting for absolutely no reason and you just can't contain your laughter?  That's what I think of when I see Anabella, she is a happy little girl and I think she could laugh at anything, but at what cost.  We don't always realize that our actions hurt other people, especially if it's just silly childish laughter.  How is a child to understand that could hurt feelings... personally I feel that last statement is a joke in itself.  A child should know their actions hurt even if it is laughter.  We need to teach them not to poke fun at others, for freckles or red hair, rosy cheeks or any other things that can't be helped.

I think this book could help with that lesson.  Giving children the ability to actually "see" on the pages how something as minor as laughing could hurt a friend.

I will enjoy reading this to my children and listening to Lu reading it to me.  She's constantly building her vocabulary and just like Rozie, she really likes to read.  I have been blessed with children who enjoy the written word, that makes me so happy.  This book is a great addition to our story collections.  Thank you so much for this adorable story.
