It's time to get this house in order...

We all know that feeling, Spring is just around the corner and we want to get organized. Well, my middle daughter's birthday is coming up and while it would be fantastic to give her the party of her dreams it's not as easy as it sounds, and oh yes, it is as expensive as it sounds. So, I have decided that I'm going to take the next 2.5 weeks to organize the toy room as well as the children's room so that she can have an old fashioned "at home" party. We can do cake and balloons and decorate crafts, for a lot less then renting a little room at the neighborhood craft store for $50 and then buying the crafts on top of that, and supplying all the party stuff too. I mean really, if that is what I wanted to do then I would have a home party!! And that's where the plan started. I was sitting going over the prices of the different parties and the things they included and decided, we can do this right at home for a heck of a lot cheaper. I wish we could be that family who goes all out and has the best party on the block but we aren't, we can't be, we never will be....well, one time waaaayyyy back when we were, but I only had one child back then and I wasn't a stay at home mommy. It's funny the things that change when you live off of one income! Well, I will show you tomorrow by taking a photo of the remnants of what must have been a tornado that had blown through my toy room without my knowledge because I don't understand how else it could be the way it is. I will take some before and some after photos for you, but have patience, this is only starting tomorrow so it will be a few days before it's perfect! I plan to rearrange and beautify my babies' toy room. Function at it's fullest. As long as I get it done before the party, or else we'll be having an over priced party ;) I'm off for now, lots of planning to do but I will get moving on this project soon. Until next time. Have a great day/night/week/month!!

Emmy Rossum's Sentimental Journey

Emmy Rossum is a double threat. You may know her from her starring role as Fiona Gallagher on Showtime's Shamelessbut the gal can sing, too!

Emmy's newest 'passion project,' Sentimental Journey, is a collection of classic covers that takes us through the American Songbook.  On Sentimental Journey, the multi-talented actress and singer brings her stellar voice to songs popularized by some of the most beloved artists of the last century.

The album's highlights include its title track, which was a No. 1 hit for Les Brown and His Band of Renown with Doris Day as the vocalist in 1945; These Foolish Things, a '30s standard that has been recorded by everyone from Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby to Rod Stewart and Michael Buble, and Summer Wind, which was popularized by Frank Sinatra in 1966.

MY REVIEW:

I love it!  That is all!

Okay, that's not all...But I do love it!
At first glance I said to my husband, "this review is for you.  I'm not going to like it!"  WOW, was I ever wrong, from the very first song I was hooked, her voice is captivating, the songs she has chosen to sing on this album are fantastic.  In all honesty, I don't think there was a song that I didn't like.  I really enjoyed the tone, the passion in her voice is remarkable.  This album has jumped from my "I'm not going to like it list" to my favorites.  I try to turn it on whenever I'm in the van, it's a little difficult some times because of my children, but if I do it right they don't even realize that I've put on something worth listening to instead of that stuff the kids listen to nowadays.  I never thought I'd ever say that!! I'm turning into my mother, HELP!!  But it's true, the music of the past is so much better than today and when it's given new life by such talented artists as Emmy there is no doubt in my mind it will continue to be a hit.

I love this album and I would suggest if you are a fan of music that is 50 years young, you will want to grab this album.

I give this album 4 out of 4 thumbs up!

~~I received the album mentioned above for free for my written review of my honest opinion. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers~~
