Bridesmaids

Let me just start by saying, I LOVE THIS MOVIE.  I thought it was very funny.  I was torn at first because I "heard through the grapevine" that it "is the female version of The Hangover".  And the hangover is NOT my kind of comedy at all.  All those phrases you hear, like "the last fling before the ring", drive me crazy.  If you are in love with someone and you "take the plunge" and decide to get married why would you want something like that, why would you do something like that to your partner, soon to be spouse, the last partner you will ever have in your life.  I was very happy to see this movie was nothing like that, I mean yes the bridal party went to Las Vegas but we never actually saw anything but the plane ride that got cut short.  This movie truly portrays the life of a woman in a stressful time in her life.  I can totally relate to most of the female characters in the movie.
Annie's adult life is a total mess, she is having a relationship with a man who only wants one thing, then she meets an amazing man and she blows that because she's so confused.  She feels replaced as her best friend, Lillian, is getting married and has a "new" bff.  Jealousy takes hold of Annie and some uncontrollable turn of events happen getting her kicked out of the bridal party, she is replaced as the Maid of Honor by none other that the woman she felt was trying to take her place in Lillian's life, Helen.  Later she finds out that Helen doesn't have the picture perfect life that she pretends to have.  He husband is never home, her step children hate her and she only wants what we all want, some real friends.  Annie is too busy holding onto the past regrets she has and the feelings of abandonment by her partner who left when her business fell apart that she doesn't see the things that are right in front of her.  The feud between Annie and Helen started from the first minute they met, you know that person you judge before they even open their mouth and prove all of your assumptions to be true.  Fighting for the place of Lillian's best friend proves pointless for Annie, she says all these great ideas and then Helen uses them once she because Maid of Honor.  Annie can't handle it anymore and snaps.  On a rampage she single handily ruins the wedding shower after the theme, that she picked out and Helen stole, and then the gift from Helen for the bride to be, to go to Paris.  That was it, her boiling point, she flipped out and got kicked out of everything, even attendance of the wedding.  All of the women have their problems, and they all hide it well, except Annie.  I feel this movie shows what we all know, women are emotional and sometimes crazy.  The actresses all did a fantastic job in this and I loved each and every one of them.
I was quite surprised by the performance of Melissa McCarthy who played Megan, she was no Sookie St. James I tell ya.  (Gilmore Girls fans will know the reference)  I loved the part, and she did an amazing job in it too.
I watched the movie with my husband last night and he loved it as well.  We will always remember "It's a bear sandwich.....it's meat and cheeses"
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie.  Finally a real view on the way woman think under stress.

Hall Pass

I reluctantly watched this movie because the idea of a "hall pass" from marriage is revolting to me. And the movie is just exactly that. Men are pigs, married to amazing women and they still can't stop looking at other women, like they are missing out on something in their own lives, and marriages. Talking amongst their friends about the "hot" girl at the grocery store or the coffee shop (like the blonde in the movie), instead of just enjoying the life they have, the life that at one time they wanted. Why do men feel they are missing out on something, why do they have to long for something better. THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER. The two characters in this movie that I actually like are Rick played by Owen Wilson and his wife Maggie played by Jenna Fischer. Maggie is the one who said that Rick could have the hall pass but later realized it was she, herself, who wanted/needed the "break" from their marriage, but not really their marriage, just a break from watching her husband stare at all the super skinny women who don't have stretchmarks or saggy boobs from having children. She wanted to feel loved and appreciated and she wasn't feeling that at home. She thought if she could let him go out and get turned down then maybe he would realize how amazing she is and show a little appreciation towards her and stop looking at all the other women. So she packed up her children and when to the cottage. He rented a hotel room and then started the week of very slow, realizing that these women weren't actually interested in him. He later hit it off with the above mentioned coffee girl. One night he finally gets his chance, but then he realizes just how great his wife was, and the error of his ways. He turns down this completely gorgeous super model looking naked woman and heads to the cottage to get his wife, the woman of his dreams, the love of his life, only to find another man's car there. Afraid of what he would find, he entered slowly, happy to find his wife alone and then he tells her that she is the only one he's ever been with in "that" way. She "was his first, his last and his everything in the middle"

I love the way the movie wrapped up in the end. Even though some men don't appreciate what they have, some just need a little push to remember all the reasons why they love their partner.

Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Cleaner

I got my Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Cleaner on Monday and I hooked it up Tuesday morning.  After cleaning my toilet because it says to use on clean toilet.  Much to my disappointment, as soon as I placed it on the foot pump it started spraying. I waited a few seconds to see if it would stop. I thought maybe it was supposed to go off. Then I disconnected, checked everything, didn't see an issue with the unit so I reattached it and their was no change, it continued on and drained my "30 Day" can completely :( Within 3 minutes the whole thing was gone. I had the lid closed because it said it cleans under the lid and I wasn't sure what would happen.  I'm happy I did because it was a big enough mess with the lid closed. It sprayed under the lid (which it says it will do), it sprayed the seat, and through the spaces between lid & seat and seat & bowl. So I actually had to clean my whole bathroom, which I hadn't planned on doing since I had three sick young children waiting for me downstairs. :(  I am assuming it was a faulty can or foot pump or something and this won't happen to many other people.  I am very dissatisfied with my experience with the New Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Cleaner. Hooked it up and because of some sort of malfunction my "30 day" can was completely empty in less than 3 minutes. The good part, my toilet is clean, so is my floor, my children's stool, my walls, door and vanity and my pants. It just wanted to be a multipurpose cleaner I guess.

I personally would not purchase this product because it is not just a "One Step" and walk away.  I have four children and for the two times a day you are supposed to step on it you will also have to wipe the seat, lid and spaces between.  For now, I will leave the toilet bowl cleaning to once a week and of course whenever my husband does it.

Please don't let my experience discourage you from trying it.  Go to Facebook where you can step on the One Step for a chance to win! It was likely 1 in a million.  Good luck with yours.
