Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a New Yorker who shuns intimacy with women but feeds his desires with a compulsive addiction to sex. When his wayward younger sister (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment and stirs up memories of their shared painful past, Brandon’s insular life spirals out of control.
MY REVIEW:
Well, I feel the title says it all. I feel shame saying that I've watched this!
This is not my kind of movie at all. I did not like it and (I know this sounds silly BUT) I found myself closing my eyes through much of the movie. I am not that in touch with my sexuality that I'm okay with watching naked people. A little butt cheek here and there is not something I look away from, usually because it doesn't stay on the screen long enough to care, but this movie had full frontal male nudity right out of the gate. WOW....I couldn't believe it. I don't like looking at naked people, and I really didn't like that everyone in this movie was naked at one point of another. I was expecting it to be about a sexual past event or something, I didn't expect to actually see non-stop sex.
This man is a Sexopath (I don't know if that's a real word, but for the sake of this review it is today! He is like a psychopath, but about sex). I can understand the intimacy issues and even understand having sex with more than one person, but he is none stop all day long having sex in random places with random people and it's just not right. My husband and I watched this together while we were packing up to move and I'm glad we did because it gave me something to do during the "yukky" parts....oh wait, that was pretty much the whole movie. If you're like me and you don't like to see "parts" on tv don't watch this movie, but if you like psychosexual dramas then you may very well like this.
I give this movie 0 out of 4 thumbs up!
